Upgrading your home isn’t always about a big construction project. Some upgrades are easy to do and will make your home feel custom and accentuate your personal aesthetic.
Here are a few ways you can upgrade your space and make a big difference.
Be sure to use the Designer Chat if you want some advice on any of the ideas below.
Lighting:
Upgrading your lighting from the builder grade styles is a BIG game changer. Keep in mind scale, texture and other lights that are in the space. Styles with Rattan, Mixed metals and bold shapes are a must. Just be sure you have the proper outlets and wiring- you may want to contact and electrician if needed.

Paint:
While paint may not feel like an upgrade- adding color to your space brings warmth and interest. We like to pick a wall color to flow through the house that can be neutral than think of each room and the furniture inside the space.
As designers- we get asked about paint selections more than anything. This is a good time to hire a professional and get all your rooms, accents like fireplace, chair rails, stair risers and doors to their perfect shades.
Be sure to check out our Paint Designer’s Desk to learn all about the PPG Paint Selections we love.

Mirrors:
We love using a mirror as decor in a Great Room, or above a vanity. However, upgrading your flat bathroom mirrors is an instant design feature. We like having two mirrors if you have a double vanity- feels more custom. If you really want to upgrade the powder room- adding a wallpaper or accent paint color behind the mirror can take this to a whole new level.
